We are now looking for someone ready to take on new challenges as Chief Mine Planner in Kiruna. If you’re interested in strategic planning and have an analytical approach to mine development, this could be the right opportunity for you.

Your Role

Your main responsibilities will include leading, developing, and implementing strategies and processes for mine planning. You’ll work closely with other departments to ensure that efficient plans support our operational goals. We believe in staying grounded, so the ability to balance attention to detail with a broad strategic overview is essential.

Initially, you’ll be responsible for building your team of engineers and technicians – currently, two engineers are in place. Together, you’ll be responsible for both long- and short-term mine planning within the Viscaria mining area. The role also includes budget and performance responsibility, and you will be part of the Mine Manager’s leadership team.

Your Background

You hold a relevant academic degree and have a few years’ experience in mine planning, preferably from various mining environments. Your analytical skills, combined with a strategic mindset, will be key to your success in this role.

Leadership experience is an advantage, but your personal qualities will be the deciding factor. You should be a clear communicator, structured, proactive, and capable of providing clear direction for your team. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, and a category B driving licence are required. Swedish language skills are a plus.
